Many witnessed his victory at The Texaco Country Showdown 2011in Muskogee, OK, competing with many young country music artists across eastern Oklahoma. Next he competed in the western arena of young country music artists, The Texaco Showdown 2011, at the State Fairgrounds in
Oklahoma City, and this young artist won again. From there he went to Regional in Raton, New Mexico, performing at the Shuler Theater, where he wow’d the crowd again. Jeremy Collins sings hard-hitting modern day Country with a twang, and he brings the house down every time!
Jeremy Collins writes all of his own songs, from the heart and life experiences. He has the bases covered with songs from hard hitting Country with an attitude, to songs with a traditional sound and modern sound of today. Jeremy’s style of writing is influenced by Country Music artists like Eddie Perez, Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens, Gary Allen, Brad Paisley, and Derick Bently, and many more. Song writing comes naturally to Jeremy. He says, "It was given to me by God on a gold platter, so to
speak, growin’ up in a lil’ country church in Tamaha, OK." Jeremy says music is just second-nature to him. As a youngin’ his mother noticed him tapping his feet and clapping his hands together in perfect rythmn, so at age 4, his mother bought him a small drum set, and away he went.....no lessons, no guidance, he just started playing. A few years later, his father shows him three chords on the guitar, and, with a natural sense of rythmn already, and an ‘ear’ for music, Jeremy taught himself to play.
Jeremy has produced a CD of his own original songs, doing all the vocals and playing all the instruments himself. Through the media of the internet, Jeremy Collins’ music is already well known across the USA, Europe, and among the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. In late January, 2012, Jeremy will be going into the studio, working on his second album.
After hearing Jeremy sing, you’ll say his music grabs the heart and soul of main-stream America.
